Intiface Central v3.0.0-beta2 is stable but EDI shows no devices; Intiface Central 2.6.x stops after a few minutes (serial “failed to write whole buffer”)

Hey folks! Huge thanks for all the work on Buttplug/Intiface—really appreciate it. I’m hoping for a little guidance on two related issues.

Environment

What works / what doesn’t

  1. Intiface Central 3.0.0-beta2

    • Device connects and runs stable for 10+ minutes (so far completely fine).

    • When I open EDI, IC shows “Connected: EDI”, but EDI lists no devices (device list is empty).

  2. Intiface Central 2.6.x

    • The same device connects and works for a few minutes, then stops by itself even when EDI is not running.

    • During those minutes everything behaves normally; then it just stops.

Log line that seems relevant

cannot write data to serial port, exiting thread: failed to write whole buffer

How can I make EDI show/list the device when using Intiface Central 3.0.0-beta2?

OR

How can I keep Intiface Central 2.6.x stable with this serial setup?

Thanks in advance!

So, this looks like it might be a protocol backwards compatibility issue, but to confirm, we could really do with seeing the logs. It might also be worth seeing your user config file.

If the send logs to developers option is available in the settings tab, please use that to send in your logs (from the 3 beta). If it’s not available, please DM me your logs and configs: you’ll find them under C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\com.nonpolynomial\intiface_central
