I got the Joyhub Rainbow specifically to use with some desktop video games. I have an Insignia Bluetooth adapter plugged into the computer less than 4ft from where I sit. I have managed to get the Joyhub to remain connected to IC for a whole 30 minute game. Today it remained connected for about 20 minutes, disconnected and reconnected a few minutes later only to disconnect agan Every other time I’ve tried to use it, it either never connects to IC, disconnects as soon as the client connects or disconnects if I minimize or otherwise cover the IC window. Everything works fine connecting to the Android IC app. Anyone have a suggestion or did I waste my money on a toy that doesn’t work with the software as I had hoped it would?
We’ve always had issues with insignia BLE adapters: they come with an energy saving mode by default that randomly causes disconnects.
BLE on desktop platforms is still pretty unstable compared to mobile, so if Intiface is working on your phone, use that instead; most games/mods/tools let you specify the address of Intiface so you can point whatever client you’re running on your PC to your phone (for those that don’t, you can put Intiface on your PC into repeater mode to forward the connection to your phone)
Could you possibly point me in the direction for instructions on using my phone as the connection for my game client?
That really depends on the game… Some have options, others you’ll need to use Intiface on your PC in repeater mode
So many apologies. I tried to set up the repeater and ended up getting an error in the desktop app saying the connection was refused because the target machine actively refused it.
In the windows app I put the phone IP as the remote server address with the app mode being repeater. There doesn’t seem to be a server address option in the android app. I’m working off App Modes - Repeater Panel | Intiface Documentation and without pictures I tend to get rather confused as I’m a visual learner. Anyway you can see maybe giving me some more help?
